Baked Sweet & Spicy Honey Peppered Wings

Good Morning everybody! I will tell you that it has been quite the day already and it all started well before 7 this morning. Don’t worry, this part of my blog is not about to transform into a page of spilling the beans… unless I literally do spill the beans – then I will likely talk about it. After all, it is food related. All I have to say is the long arm of the Army ALWAYS gets its way. Not that it is always a bad thing or anything, but there is little negotiation room when you’re dealing with the big bad military. Thinking back about it, now I’m glad we had such a great dinner because I think it helped this morning. If you’re thinking I like to take the credit where credit is not deserved, you may be right. But let a girl dream.

I bet you are asking yourselves what could she have prepared that would calm her nerves 12 hours later? Well, faithful followers that is a good question. In fact, that is THE question. Now I don’t know about you, but I love chicken wings. I love them so much that I want to order them every time we go out to eat. I crave them to the point that I even think fifty cent wing Wednesdays are a good deal. [Are you kidding me?] Sometimes I am so preoccupied with filling my wing craving that I am willing to buy wings at any price. Oh yes, I am an addict and I am proud to be one. But, surprisingly, I never tried to make my own. Last night we did. We had three… yes THREE types of prepared wings last night. I am bringing to you only one today, but you will not be disappointed! So don’t forget to check back in the days to come to experience the other types of wings.

I bet you’re wondering what I have for you today. Well, today I am bringing to you the Baked Sweet & Spicy Honey Peppered Wings. They are baked in the oven and take less than an hour.

Here is what you will need:

  • 1 pound chicken wings
  • 1 Spicy Honey Wing Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • Freshly Ground Pepper


  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
  • Make sure your chicken wings are completely thawed, if you purchased frozen wings
  • In a medium bowl, mix the wings and all of the ingredients, making sure the wings are completely covered

  • Chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes
  • Cover a large baking sheet with foil. Then add the wings
  • Cook in the oven for 45 minutes or until the internal temperature is 180 degrees F
  • Intermittently, coat the wings with the extra sauce while rotating the wings
  • Serve with Blue Cheese Dipping Sauce & Celery

For the sauce, I simply purchased Chunky Blue Cheese Dressing in a bottle and added some larger chunks of blue cheese to the mix. It came out looking perfect. Serve those bad boys up with some celery and it’s like you bought the wings from a restaurant. I am serious!
