Foodie Celebration: Cookbook Giveaway!

I am coming upon my two-year blog-iversary. Don’t know what a blog-iversary is? Well let me tell you. It is an anniversary to celebrate one’s blog. I started this little adventure almost two years ago with an elusive audience that {for all I knew} would never know who I was or what I was doing on my website. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would have thousands of foodie friends.

Two years ago I did not cook. I could toast a poptart and I could fry an egg {sometimes} but I couldn’t do any of what I’ve been doing for the past 2 years. In fact I still feel like a naïve little foodie when I make something new.

I hope to make more complex meals with more refined ingredients in my next year of blogging. I mean I will have a brand new kitchen in November so I might as well put it to good use. Stay tuned for that transformation.

In the past two years not only have I taught myself to cook, meal by meal, I have developed a slight obsession with kitchen tools, appliances, and other fun stuff. It was not too hard, I do come by it naturally – my mom has always had a variety of fun kitchen things to play with {but I never did}. Now all I ever see is the fun gadgets for the kitchen when I am in a store. I want one of everything. Nick has to reel me back in most times... but he totally loves new gadgets, too.

A lot of the reason I started my website was to save money. Moving across the country was expensive and Nick and I were eating out a lot... even before we moved. {Let's not talk about moving BACK across the country one year later}. So my little adventure was as much about teaching myself a new skill as it was about saving money and spending time with my panda bear. So many people today go out to eat or don't make time for family dinners that the concept of family time is being lost. While Nick and I only have fur babies, it is still nice to come home and eat dinner together. It gives us some down time to talk about our day or debate some new asinine political issue in the world. I am proud that many of my meals are delicious to eat and easy to make at night for any busy family!

So to celebrate all of my new and old friends I am hosting a fantastic giveaway. Many of you know I have recently reached 4000 facebook followers! In order to celebrate I’m giving to ONE lucky winner a copy of Hungry Girl’s 300 under 300 Cookbook. I personally have a copy of this book and it’s fabulous! Lisa Lillien {a.k.a. Hungry Girl} packs this cookbook with 300 recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner all of which are UNDER {yes, under!} 300 calories!

She even includes colored pictures and fun little blurbs! See!
